Excellent series. This book is both black and white text and companion guide. Activities, maps, tests and answer keys are all included in one book, unlike the two-book system or CD system of vol. 3 & 4. I cannot say enough about this series, and we reference back to these lessons time and again. Incredible series that I cannot speak highly enough about. I did this series twice with each of our sons and we repeatedly comment on things we hear that relate back to lessons in Mystery of History. If you are unfamiliar with the series this has lessons and activities geared toward all ages (we started in kindergarten and ended in high school). There are suggested reading options for all ages if you want to incorporate more, especially for the high school level.
